While in Ethiopia we visited many projects such as the Brothers of Charity, who work in many different countries, helping people with physical and mental disabilities. While we were there we met some of the brothers, and the people who lived there; we heard a little bit about the history of the brotherhood.
Another project we visited was the Gemini Trust, which helps families that gave birth to twins in the poorest areas of Addis by providing healthcare and an education for them. Having twins can be a problem in lower income families and the babies are less likely to survive.
Some of the group got the chance to take part in a food run, this is done once a week at night. Two cars full of food are taken around Addis and given to the hundreds and homeless people around addis, the people are so grateful to receive this food as it is usually the only hot meal that they will have in a week.
